Counseling and Advising

Adult children who are stressed about what is happening to aging parents are too often looking through a very narrow “lens.”  A knowledgeable professional care manager understands aging as a normal developmental stage, recognizes and appreciates the family system and the changes that occur as each member grows older.  When those truths are shared in a discussion with family, issues are seen in a new light.  It is easier to let go of some things while others are tackled as priority.  The understanding of this as a process becomes clear and reassuring.

For more serious and complicated mental health challenges, referral to one of our community’s excellent mental health professional/therapists can be made.  CFAF care managers are not able to provide psychotherapy.
