Family meeting facilitation and mediation

Sometimes siblings don’t agree about what to do with regard to Mom and Dad and this creates conflict and stress.  Sibling relationships are frequently haunted by unresolved issues and struggles and that can interfere when major decisions must be made for parents.  Late life is a stage in a family’s growth and development that should foster closeness, understanding, and a new awareness of the value of family, regardless of past challenges.  Elder parents are faced with developmental tasks that include making sense of their lives and relationships, coming to grips with their experiences, successes and failures, and being at peace with a life well lived.  Families have an extraordinary opportunity to support their elder parents in this important phase of life, as well as to benefit from parents’ experience and wisdom.
